Chris Martin shares a touching reason he attended Apple’s debutante ball

Chris Martin shared the sweet reason he was on board with daughter Apple’s Le Bal Des Débutantes.

Martin, 47, told Rolling Stone in an interview published Thursday, Dec. 19, that attending the event was “not something I ever thought I’d do, but because I’m so in love with her, I’m like, ‘OK.'”

While at the prom, Martin shared a slow dance with Apple as part of her introduction to formal society. Martin was seen smiling and laughing as he danced and talked to his daughter as he spun her around, according to a TikTok shared by Paris Match. Apple smiled at the moment.

The ballet, which was held in Paris, was also a way to spend time with his whole family. (Martin’s son, Moses, is now in college, but attended the event with his mother, Gwyneth Paltrowand grandmother, Blythe Danner.)

“A very long weekend in Paris 💙,” Paltrow, 52, captioned a photo carousel of photos from the Dec. 1 event.

As he reflected on his life as an empty nester, Martin shared Rolling Stone that “it’s sad”. He added: “That’s the only word. But of course it would be weirder if they still said, ‘I can’t go.’ Then you would be more concerned.”

Martin guessed that he likes his children “a lot”. “Even though biologically they’re not mine — I’m breaking the story now,” Martin joked. “My favorite new thing to bother my son about is if we’re walking down the street and someone comes up to us and they say, ‘I’m sorry to disturb you while you’re with your son,'” I say , ‘That’s not my son. That’s my partner.'”

Martin laughed before adding: “Yeah. I like them a lot. I think they’re mine, to be fair.”

The Coldplayer singer was married to Paltrow for more than 10 years before they separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce two years later. They have since been open about their dedication to parenting their children.

“Chris and I made a commitment to put them first, and it’s harder than it looks, because some days you really don’t want to be with the person you’re breaking up with,” Paltrow said during a September 2020 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. “But if you’re committed to family dinner, you do it. You take a deep breath, and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your pact, and you smile, and you hug, and you recommit to this new relationships that you are trying to foster.”

Paltrow has since moved on Brad Falchukwhom she married in 2018, while Martin has been dating Dakota Johnson since 2017.
