Chip Somodevilla/Getty ImagesJack Schlossberg is known for his unfiltered comments, and now he’s getting heat for asking social media followers to rank his grandmother’s attractiveness Jackie Kennedy Onassis and JD Vance‘s wife, Usha Vance.
The Vogue political correspondent went to X during the second inauguration of the president Donald Trump Monday, January 20 and asked the question“True or False: Usha Vance Is Much Hotter Than Jackie O.”
Schlossberg’s post received immediate backlash, with one X user replying: “That’s your grandma!!!!”
“To be honest man, I think most people don’t do hotness rankers involving their grandmothers,” replied another, while others wrote: “Are you that desperate for engagement?” and “It’s not too late to delete this.”
Later Monday, Schlossberg, 32, admitted he had trolled the Internet by comparing the former First Lady, an enduring style icon, to Usha, who stepped into her new role as Second Lady when her husband was sworn in as vice president.
“I’m a literal pervert,” he joked via X. “I called my grandma hot…have I lost it completely? Jesus…this kid will do anything for attention. Your grandpa would be ashamed. Seriously. Time to get a job.”
Schlossberg is the only grandchild of Kennedy Onassis and President John F. Kennedyand the youngest son of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg. He stepped into the limelight last year after his quirky videos for TikTok and Instagram went viral. In July he was employed by Vogue to cover the 2024 presidential election.
“I just feel good. I’m a fun, crazy guy,” Jack said in a recent interview with The Anna Wintour-edited fashion outlet. “I’m a silly goose – a silly goose trying, just trying, to get the truth out there.”
His playful, provocative posts sometimes get him into trouble. Earlier this month, Schlossberg falsely claimed via X, which he represented Justin Baldoni in his legal battle against Blake Lively.
“I agreed to take on JUSTIN BALDONI as a client. Why? FAIRNESS,” Schlossberg wrote at the time. “EVERYONE is entitled to a fair trial and zealous defense. Justin has NOTHING to hide, justice will be his revenge. After the BOSTON MASSACRE, John Adams represented the British at the trial. Same day, next day.”
Although Schlossberg was only joking, fans and media alike fell for it, with some outlets publishing stories claiming he was, in fact, Baldoni’s attorney.
Schlossberg passed the bar exam in 2023 and graduated from Harvard Law School the year before. He jokingly doubled down on his Baldoni hoax, writing on New Year’s Day: “My personal feelings about Justin Baldoni are irrelevant. Justin is my client, I’m his lawyer. Even the most despicable individuals have the right to defend themselves. I’m not a hero. I just doing my job.”
