Even if Vanderpump rules has not undergone a cast inspection, Katie Maloney says she still wouldn’t have come back for season 12.

“I wasn’t planning on going back,” Katie, 37, revealed on the Wednesday, Dec. 4, episode of her “Disrespectful” podcast. “I had made a decision months ago after the last season. I needed to move on with my life.”

Katie remembered making the choice before Vanderpump rules was “put on hold”, adding: “I had spoken to our producers about it and I told them my decision about it. I personally felt ready to move on from the show. I felt that my life and where I was, moving in a different direction. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, I was ready to move on from the show.”

After being on the Bravo show since it premiered in 2013, Katie was ready for something new.

Several Vanderpump Rules stars have walked away from the Bravo series over the years. “It was a long time ago. I lived a lot of lives and went through so much on that show,” she continued. “It just got to a point where I don’t know that I can live and grow and be that version of myself , I want to be on this show longer.”

Vanderpump rules has been a consistent presence after getting its start as a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and evolves into its own very popular franchise. In the wake of Tom Sandoval‘s affair with Rachel Levissthe series immediately picked up cameras to document Season 11. However, the episodes were met with mixed reactions, and ultimately the show was put on hiatus amid cast tension.

While some things never change, the cast of Vanderpump Rules is used to a shake-up … and a touch-up. Vanderpump Rules was introduced to Bravo viewers during a special episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in January 2013. Season 1 starring Lisa Vanderpump, who was the Beverly Hills Housewife at the time, Stassi […]

“The group and the dynamic and what makes the show that show would be hard to do because it was so broken at the end there,” Katie noted Wednesday. “And a lot of us don’t hang out. There might be some people who talk to this person, or these people hang out, or these two hang out. But as far as it being like a cohesive unit, it just doesn’t exist anymore. “

Katie wasn’t surprised that Bravo made some changes considering Vanderpump rules “didn’t exist” in the way fans loved anymore. Despite her plans to leave the show, Katie still mourns the experience after over a decade on screen.

“The finality of it is surreal. It’s knowing that it just won’t be anymore. It’s final. It’s out there that it’s final,” she continued. “That it’s done is still a weird feeling. It is sad. It’s like the end of a chapter is sad, no matter what.”

Ariana Madix has also spoken about looking on the bright side of the situation.

“I was just relieved that the public was finally aware of the conversations we had,” Ariana, 39, told EXCLUSIVELY. Us Weekly Tuesday, December 3. “So it’s nice that that news is out there and, well, now I don’t have to sit here and hold it.”
