Bachelor Nation caught up with Grant as he competes for the love of Jen Tran in season 21 of The Bachelorwhich began shipping in July 2024. Jenn eventually sent Grant packing and went on to accept a proposal from Devin Strader. (Jenn revealed during live After the Final Rose in September 2024 that the couple went their separate ways off camera.)

“I poured everything out and it wasn’t good enough,” Grant told the cameras after his elimination. “It’s just a shame to know that somehow you feel for someone and they don’t feel the same way about you.”

Grant was named the next Bachelor in August 2024, making history as the second black Bachelor after Matt James starred in the show in 2021.

Following the news of his casting, Grant revealed during an episode of “The Viall Files” podcast that he was “jumping” at the opportunity to hand out roses. “I have a chance to write my own story,” he said. “So that’s something I’m interested in.”

ABC released a first look at Grant’s potential suitors in September 2024 with contestant Alli Jo catches Bachelor Nation’s eye for her uncanny resemblance to Topanga from Boy Meets World. Andreawho is 23 years old, is one of the franchise’s youngest participants.

The trailer for Grant’s season was posted below The Golden Bachelor final and After the Final Rose special in November 2024.

While on a date, Grant showed off his lone wolf tattoo, which he said symbolized “being alone.” Continuing the theme of the trailer, Grant was seen narrating Season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei“My biggest fear is that I’ll end up alone.”

Before the clip ended, Grant admitted that he wasn’t sure which of the final two he should choose.

“You feel like you know what you want?” host Jesse Palmer asked Grant, who replied that he was not positive. Jesse continued, “We have both women, they are here on standby and of course I need to know who to send first.”
