Wong and Hader were first linked in 2022 after her split from Justin Hakuta. Wong and Hader briefly separated later that year, but Us Weekly confirmed in April 2023 that they were rekindling their romance.

In her now award-winning stand-up special, Wong joked about how she and Hader got together.
